The Taiwan government offers various study programs for foreign students who want to study in their country, starting from vocational school, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Of course, this makes it easier for foreign students to choose study programs that suit their needs. The following is an explanation of the study program in Taiwan:
The 3+4 program is an educational program initiated by the Taiwan Government for students of Chinese descent outside Taiwan with the following provisions: 3 years of vocational school (study-apprenticeship) and followed by 4 years of education at a college or university in Taiwan.
3+4 Program Requirements:
- Students of Chinese Descent are certified by Overseas Local.
- Students aged 16-22 years.
- Have a minimum of a junior high school diploma or equivalent
Learning Methods in Vocational Schools:
Students who take this program will study using a rotation type method: 3 months studying at school and 3 months doing internship learning at a company in collaboration with the school.
*For this 3+4 program there is no summer or winter break
Program Benefits:
- Students get an exemption from education fees or SPP for 3 years of vocational school
- Students will receive wages or salaries during the internship learning period at the Company.
The Strata 1 (1+4) study program is a program launched by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education to attract prospective students from Southeast and South Asian countries. This program has been running since 2022 and many students from Indonesia are participating in this program.
1+4 國際專修部 (International Foundation Program)
1 Years chinese learning + 4 years Bachelor Program
The duration of this bachelor’s degree program is 1 year + 4 years, and the program recruits two types of students: overseas Chinese students and international students. In the first year, a student must complete at least 720 hours of an intensive Chinese language program and achieve her CEFR level A2 at the end of the language program. If you pass the A2 level, you will enroll in a four-year undergraduate program (taught in Chinese).
For financial support, overseas chinese student and international students enrolled in this program are eligible for work permit for up to 20 hours per week both on-campus and off-campus. Students from economically disadvantaged families are given priority to work part-time on campus. The university offers dormitory on campus for international students and the rates are very affordable.
This program is a continuation program for foreign students who graduated from Diploma III to Diploma IV level which is carried out in Taiwan.
This 2+i program lasts for five semesters, including learning on campus and also internships in industries related to the major.
Program Benefits:
After completing this program, foreign students can work in Taiwan as a result of their learning experience and also in industrial internships.
